Dimraeth Items and Spellbooks

Rarity, upgrades, crafted spellbooks, and why you only equip five spells at a time.

Items and Spellbooks

Dimraeth’s loot loop is not a Diablo dump. You fight, you gather, you go home, and Faustas’s stronghold turns materials into equipment, potions, meals, and spellbooks. Steam Early Access is dated 15 September 2026. This page explains the systems Mudtek has actually described. It does not invent sword names, set bonuses, or a fake vendor price list.

If you are still in the first cave, read Getting Started and the starter walkthrough first. Gear is input. A pretty rarity tag in Lost Caverns is not a build.

What you carry

Your hero’s level, equipment, inventory, and spells travel between worlds. Story flags, recruited NPCs, and buildings do not. That split matters for items: a unique drop you found in a friend’s Wildwood is yours to wear elsewhere. A shop you unlocked by investing in Manga or Tamsin is not. Read co-op before you assume a shared stash.

Equipment has rarity tiers and upgrades. You craft at the stronghold, you upgrade rather than infinitely hoarding, and you cook meals that raise vitality. Farms and quarries exist so the loop can feed itself. Investing materials in an ally’s facility expands shop inventories, adds crafting services, and opens more farming plots. That is the economy. It is not an auction house.

We will not list fabricated item IDs. When a tooltip in Early Access names a set, that name belongs in a later revision of this page, not in a guess today.

Five spells, three sources

You equip five spells at a time. More than 300 spells exist in the design. The five-slot cap is the point: a loadout is a rotation, closer to a Souls weapon-art kit than a ten-button MMO bar. Pair the bar with combat — stamina for physical hits and dodges, Concentration for spells, Concentration regen on landed basics, third hit as a Final Attack.

Spells arrive from three documented directions:

  1. Race kit — a starting kit plus about six signature spells in the race tree. A Minotaur leans charge, quake, and earth. A Human swaps sword and crossbow mid-fight.
  2. Class tree — about another six. Brawler is close-range stamina and grapples. Magician layers fire, ice, or lightning onto weapon strikes.
  3. The worldspellbooks hidden in loot, vendors, and less obvious places. Any race and class pairing can learn them if you meet the attribute requirements. This is where summons, support tools, and weirder utility live.

A fourth, quieter source: rune sets on gear that grant spells as procs when you wear enough pieces. Do not chase a full set in the first hour. Do chase the attributes your books actually gate.

The Mudtek spell devlog on this page is the studio explaining modifiers under the spells — Charged, Piercing, Rapid Embers, Combusting, and close to 300 modifiers. That is why two Magicians do not play the same. Your Fireball is not a global icon; it is a stack of choices.

Attribute gates are the real loot filter

XP buys attributes. The cost of each attribute depends on your race–class pairing. A Fairy Magician pays a premium for Strength; a Minotaur Brawler does not. If you dump XP into off-stats because a spellbook looked shiny, you finish the level cap with fewer total points. That is the most expensive item mistake in Dimraeth.

Use the archetype planner before you commit a rare book to a stat you cannot afford. Character creation is where the pairing is locked. Starter builds name the documented on-stat plans: Minotaur Brawler (Vanguard) into Strength and blunt stun; Human Magician into the weapon-plus-element conversion that still swings.

Spellbooks are how the 300-spell pool stays from collapsing into one optimal bar. The book is universal. The gate is not. If you cannot meet the attribute line, the book is a paperweight until you respec or you picked the wrong pairing.

Crafting, cooking, and why you go home

The store copy is blunt: explore, fight, claim loot, gather, then return home to craft equipment, brew potions, and cook hearty meals that increase vitality. Build farms and quarries for a steady supply. That loop is why stronghold is a guide and not a screenshot gallery.

Practical order for Early Access day one:

  1. Do not vendor-trash materials you do not recognize. The stronghold will want them.
  2. Cook before a named fight. Boss Fights are stamina exams; food is a meter, not flavor.
  3. Upgrade a weapon you actually press. A higher rarity you never swing is a museum piece.
  4. Craft a spellbook only when your attributes clear the gate.
  5. Spend on ally facilities in your world. Shops do not travel.

Consumables are not a substitute for reading a telegraph. If you are eating through a stack on every Wildwood pack, your rotation is the problem, not your pantry. Open Combat, then come back.

What this page will not do

No fake legendary table. No invented set named after Sylbos. No gold-per-hour farm route that assumes a 1.0 economy. No script menus, injectors, or duplicated items. Dimraeth is a Steam PC game with Steam Cloud and achievements. If a site offers a client outside Steam, it is not this wiki’s problem to host.

When Mudtek publishes a patch that names a crafting station or a rarity color, this page will use those words. Until then, the useful facts are the ones already public: rarity and upgrades exist, five spells are equipped, books are gated, runes proc, meals raise vitality, and your bags travel while the workshop stays home.

If you only change one habit after reading this, stop treating the first cave like an endgame stash. Clear Lost Caverns, meet Befr and Manga, build once, then spend XP like it is scarce. The Guides Hub is the rest of the how. The Tier List is which pairing should be wearing the gear you just made.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Dimraeth players.

How many spells can I equip in Dimraeth?

Five at a time. The design includes more than 300 spells. Race trees, class trees, crafted spellbooks, and some gear rune sets all feed that pool.

Do spellbooks work on every race and class?

Any pairing can learn a book if you meet its attribute requirements. The book is universal; the gate is not. Off-stat XP makes those gates more expensive.

Does my loot travel into a friend's world?

Your equipment, inventory, and spells travel with the hero. Shops, recruited NPCs, and buildings stay in the world where you unlocked them.

Should I upgrade gear in the first cave?

Pick up materials, then craft and upgrade at Faustas's stronghold. A perfect Lost Caverns drop is not required to reach Earlwood.

What do cooked meals do?

The studio describes hearty meals that increase vitality. Cook before named fights. Food is a meter, not a substitute for reading telegraphs.

Will this wiki list every item name?

No. We do not invent item IDs. When Early Access publishes set names and rarity colors, those belong here. Until then, use systems, not a fake database.
