Dimraeth Allies and Antagonist

Earlwood faces, Faustas the recruiter, and Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi.

NPC Allies, Merchants, Villains

Dimraeth’s published story is not a silent loot route. Corruption spreads across Mirkea. A ritual meant to grant power goes wrong. You wake changed, and the venerable wizard Faustas recruits you to stand with Mirkea’s free peoples against Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi, who wants Dimraeth and the power it sits on. Between those two names sit the Earlwood people you can actually talk to: Alaric, Befr, Manga, Eldorian, Tamsin, and Myrll.

This page is a roster of confirmed NPCs. It is not a romance chart, and it does not invent quest steps Mudtek has not shown. Steam Early Access is 15 September 2026. Recruiting, personal quests, and possible romances are part of the store loop; the place those relationships land is the stronghold. Playable bodies stay on races and classes. The Characters hub ties the three together.

Faustas — recruiter, not a class

Faustas is the venerable wizard who pulls you into the war after the broken ritual. Store copy frames him as the reason you stand with Mirkea’s free peoples. He is not a playable Magician preset and not a seventh class. When guides say “Faustas’s stronghold,” they mean the home you raise under that war — farms, quarries, crafting, and the allies who move in — not a second player character. Read the stronghold guide for the loop: explore, fight, gather, return, invest in allied facilities so shops and plots grow.

Sylbos — antagonist

Sylbos is Last of the Ogre Magi. He seeks to claim Dimraeth and the power upon which it stands. Dark gods sit in the same sentence in the store page. He is not a recruitable ally, not a secret playable race, and not a Brawler with a funny hat. If a later patch adds more of his cult, this section should grow. Until then, treat him as the reason Earlwood feels like a holdout instead of a starter town.

Alaric Audet

Alaric is a legendary folk hero: 6.4 feet, weathered, sun-tanned, piercing blue eyes. Official copy stresses honor, independence, and hard-earned excellence. He is calm, focused, and self-assured. He leads by example rather than by collecting approval. If you are building a Human Brawler or any frontliner who wants a moral tone rather than a joke NPC, Alaric is the published face of that stance. He is still an NPC. Copying his height does not copy a kit.

Befr

Befr is the warm traveling merchant who parks a caravan in Earlwood Village. He sells goods he calls “of the most exceptional quality,” greets everyone as “my friend,” and laughs “Ho ho!” Optimism is the surface. Under it, the write-up gives him a longer life than a normal trader, talk of ancient forces, and a week spent living among Dryad sisters (a lore beat, not a playable race). He claims the squirrels owe him favors. He will nudge a young adventurer with a tale and tea. Mechanically, expect a vendor who is also a story door; invest in allied facilities at the stronghold if you want shops to grow.

Manga

Manga was a warrior of the Minotaur Empire and now lives as Earlwood’s blacksmith. He is towering and calm. The cut-off horns mark exile for refusing a brutal raid. He follows Praesidiism: true strength is protection, not conquest. The village distrusted him, then respected him after the Goblin Crisis. He stays a steady Guild Hall presence — thinker as much as craftsman. If you rolled Minotaur Brawler (Vanguard), Manga is the reminder that minotaur culture is not only Boulder Fel Barons charges. He is still not a second Vanguard preset.

Eldorian

Eldorian is a young elf, curious, first to greet newcomers at the Guild Hall. The published kit is spear and spell. Time is split between forest and Hall. The dream is to become a hero. Important: this is an NPC kit. Playable Elves are confirmed but do not inherit Eldorian’s spear just because he holds one. Use him as a Guild Hall face and a magic-curious foil, not as a hidden class reveal.

Tamsin

Tamsin is a gifted enchanter who loves magical banners. She brings color to the Guild Hall. Delicate health, fast talk, bright ideas. Origin: the Great City of Aldoria, trained in enchantment at the Academy of Arcana, then left for freedom and purpose. Now in Earlwood, she is known for intricate designs, a warm spirit, and quiet tunes while she works. If the stronghold loop lets you expand crafting services by investing in allies, Tamsin is the published enchanting face of that promise.

Myrll

Myrll was exiled by the forest she cherished and now lingers at its edge. The body is ethereal, with doe legs and a fox tail. Official copy is grief, silence, and a path from exile toward purpose. She is not a playable Fairy subtype and not a Dryad sister. If you came to this page from races, keep Fairy (staff caster, expensive Strength) and Myrll (exiled forest NPC) in separate drawers.

How NPCs sit on the stronghold loop

Store language is consistent: explore Mirkea, complete quests, recruit allies, fight, loot, gather, then return home to craft, brew, cook, and build. Deeper relationships unlock conversations, personal quests, and potential romances. Investing materials in allies’ facilities expands shop inventories, crafting services, and farming plots. That is why this page keeps sending you to the stronghold instead of pretending Earlwood is a lobby.

Co-op caveat: your hero’s race and class travel between worlds. Recruited allies and buildings stay tied to a world. If you drop into a friend’s session, you bring the Vanguard; you do not bring their Manga upgrades. Plan the social half of the game on the host’s stronghold.

When you finish these profiles, do not farm this page for unpublished romance flags. Go raise the stronghold, then pick a documented pair on classes so you have something to come home with.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Dimraeth players.

Who is Faustas in Dimraeth?

The venerable wizard who recruits you after a broken ritual. He is the story reason you stand with Mirkea's free peoples, not a playable class. The home you raise is covered in the stronghold guide.

Why are Manga's horns cut off?

They mark exile. Manga refused to join a brutal raid, left the Minotaur Empire, and now smiths in Earlwood under Praesidiism — strength as protection. He earned respect during the Goblin Crisis.

Where do I find Befr?

Earlwood Village, with a caravan of 'exceptional quality' goods, a 'Ho ho!' laugh, and stories that run longer than a normal merchant's life. He once lived a week among Dryad sisters.

Is Sylbos a recruitable ally?

No. Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi, is the antagonist who wants Dimraeth itself. Faustas recruits you to oppose him. Do not plan a party slot for Sylbos.

Can I romance NPCs?

Store copy says deeper relationships can unlock conversations, personal quests, and potential romances. It does not publish a pairing list. Treat romance as a stronghold-side promise, not a spoiler table.

Is Eldorian's spear the playable Elf weapon?

No. Eldorian is a Guild Hall NPC who uses spear and spell. Playable Elves are confirmed but do not have a published racial weapon yet. See races.
