Early Access Launch

Dimraeth enters Steam Early Access on 15 September 2026. That is a launch into an unfinished, playable action RPG, not a 1.0 release and not a stealth 1.0. Mudtek’s store FAQ is blunt about the difference: the current build is a complete starter region plus the core loop, and Early Access exists so the studio can grow the world, roster, and systems with players in the mix.

If you only remember one shopping fact, remember this: the launch price is the lowest official price. Mudtek wrote that it will gradually raise the price as content and polish land, then charge more again at full release. There is no public dollar figure on this wiki because the studio has not asked us to freeze one. Check the Dimraeth Steam store page on the day you buy.

What you should expect on day one

Steam’s Early Access questionnaire, filled in by Mudtek, is the best inventory of the opening build:

  • A complete starter region from the Lost Caverns through Earlwood Village into Wildwood Forest.
  • Multiple playable races and classes (not the full 1.0 roster of eight races and six classes).
  • Crafting and base-building as a real loop, not a lobby backdrop.
  • A working skill tree and attribute system.
  • Equipment with rarity tiers and upgrades.
  • Online co-op for friend groups, drop-in and drop-out, with hero progress that travels.
  • Multiple boss encounters.
  • The loop: explore, fight, gather, build, level up, group up.

That list is the product. It is larger than the public demo, which Mudtek once estimated at roughly a quarter of Early Access scope, but it is not the whole of Mirkea. New biomes past Earlwood and Wildwood, extra races and classes, a higher late-game skill and gear ceiling, more bosses, deeper crafting, and a longer story arc are explicitly called out as during and after Early Access work, not as day-one checkboxes.

Story framing is already public. Corruption spreads across Mirkea. Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi, wants Dimraeth. A broken ritual leaves you immortal and changed. The wizard Faustas recruits you. Your stronghold is a buildable place, not a menu. None of that requires you to spoil every NPC; it does tell you the tone of the first hours.

Price, refunds, and how long to keep the receipt

Buy at Early Access launch if you already want the game and you accept an 18–24 month live-development window. Wait if you only want a finished 1.0 map. There is no secret third option where the price stays frozen while the world triples in size.

Steam’s standard refund policy still applies: request a refund within 14 days of purchase with under two hours of play. For Early Access, minutes in the live build count against that two-hour cap. Two hours is enough to leave the caverns, see Earlwood, and decide whether stamina combat and peer-to-peer co-op feel right. It is not enough to “finish” the region and then refund. Valve, not Mudtek, runs that policy; read it on Steam before you treat this paragraph as legal advice.

Mudtek is a small team. Expect rough edges, missing 1.0 races, and systems that will be retuned. The honest pitch is a playable co-op RPG you can shape on Discord, not a boxed product with a locked credits roll.

Platforms and session rules

Early Access is Windows on Steam. The official FAQ confirms Steam Deck support. There are no confirmed consoles. There is no confirmed Mac or Linux client. Do not buy a Deck assuming a Verified badge until Valve publishes one; Mudtek’s own notes describe Deck and controller work as a first-class goal, including Joseph testing combat on a Deck during 2025 playtests.

Co-op is online, 1–8 players, peer-to-peer. One player hosts. There are no dedicated servers and no local or split-screen mode. Solo play is fully supported from start to finish. Your hero (level, gear, spells) travels between worlds; story progress, recruits, and buildings stay in the world that created them. That split is why irregular friend groups can still meet without wiping someone’s Earlwood quest log.

Game languages listed for launch include English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Russian, Spanish (Latin America), and Brazilian Portuguese. This wiki only localizes English, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

How this page relates to the rest of the wiki

Read the roadmap next if you care about the 18–24 month window and why there is no patch calendar here. Read the EA content list for Elf, Shadow, Goblin Caves, nine pets, and the level-25 cap named on 2 September 2026. Read the demo recap if you want the April–July 2026 public test, the two named bosses, and the 2 July takedown notice. New players should still start with Getting Started rather than living on news posts.

The trailer on this page is Mudtek’s official demo launch trailer. Treat it as tone and combat language, not as a shot-accurate map of the September build. The studio closed the demo because the Early Access client had already diverged past character-select options.

Wishlist and follow the Steam app if you are still deciding. If you buy on the 15th, you are backing a ten-person remote studio through a content-driven Early Access, not purchasing a finished MMO.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Dimraeth players.

Has Dimraeth entered Early Access yet?

No. Steam Early Access is scheduled for 15 September 2026. Anything that talks about the game as a live paid product before that date is wrong.

Will the price go up after launch day?

Yes. Mudtek plans to raise the price as Early Access content lands, then charge more at full release. Launch pricing is the cheapest official buy.

Can I refund Early Access if the opening region is not for me?

Steam's usual 14-day / under-two-hours window applies. Playtime in the Early Access build counts. Check Valve's refund page for the current rules.

What region ships first?

Lost Caverns through Earlwood Village into Wildwood Forest, plus crafting, a skill tree, rarity gear, online co-op, and multiple bosses. Later biomes are roadmap work, not a hidden day-one unlock.

Does Early Access include all 48 archetypes?

No. Forty-eight is the 1.0 target (eight races times six classes). Confirmed names today are Minotaur, Human, Elf, and Fairy with Brawler, Magician, and Shadow. See the EA content list.

Can I play on a console at launch?

No console release is confirmed. Windows Steam is the launch platform. Steam Deck is supported per the official FAQ.
