Confirmed Dimraeth Races
Minotaur, Human, Elf, and Fairy. Four more 1.0 races are unnamed and still rolling out.
Race in Dimraeth is the body you fight with, not a portrait slider. Mudtek is explicit: a Minotaur stays a heavy axe frontliner even on a ranged class; a Fairy stays a staff caster even as a Brawler. This page covers the four confirmed races. The 1.0 target is eight. The other four names are not listed here because they are not published. Steam Early Access is 15 September 2026; treat this as a pre-launch file.
Pair whatever you read here with a class. The combo is an archetype with its own tree and passive. Beginners should still start from starter builds and character creation, then sanity-check XP in the archetype planner. Faces you will meet in Earlwood sit on NPCs. Return to the Characters hub when you need the whole map.
Minotaur
Minotaurs are the first production race Mudtek fully showed, and they remain the best-documented body in the game.
Look and origin. They stand 7–10 feet, bull-headed, with horns that can run several feet. The homeland is the Boulder Fel Barons, a harsh biome. Upbringing is described as Spartan-like: discipline, strength, tactics. The design brief is not “mindless brute.” It is a mix of cool soldier and raging berserker — slow, wide, satisfying axe swings with real wind-up.
Combat kit. Earth magic, charge, and quake sit on the racial side. Field-command support and close-range skills are part of the same tree. The weapon identity is a huge battle axe. That identity does not go away if you take Magician; Minotaur spells include strength-scaling options so a caster still leans on power. On Brawler, the pair is the Vanguard archetype (combat-week notes also say Horned Vanguard) with bonus stamina on Strength.
Who should take it. Anyone who wants to learn poise, stun, and Final Attack from the front. It is the S-tier beginner pair on the tier list hub when locked to Brawler. Manga, the exiled minotaur blacksmith in Earlwood, is a reminder that the culture has more than one path — Praesidiism and cut horns — but that is NPC story, not a second playable race.
Human
Humans are the most populous people in Mirkea. Official copy stresses ingenuity, adaptability, and a habit of thriving in different environments.
Combat kit. The published Human fantasy is sword and crossbow with mid-fight swapping. That is the racial weapon identity, the way the axe is the Minotaur’s. Signature spells live on the Human tree; class then adds Brawler grapples or Magician elements. Humans are the other playtest/demo race alongside Minotaur, so they are the second body you can actually plan around.
Who should take it. Players who want a flexible first character without Vanguard’s stun-first job. Human Magician is the documented A-tier starter: adaptable weapons plus fire/ice/lightning blended with strikes. Human Brawler is the optional melee hybrid — playable, but it gives up both Vanguard’s stamina hook and Magician’s elemental toolkit. See starter builds.
Alaric Audet, the 6.4 foot folk hero, is a Human-scale presence in the NPC cast, not a template you must copy.
Elf
Elf is a confirmed Early Access race. Mudtek’s 2 September 2026 post listed New Race: The elf next to Shadow, expanded Wildwood, and Goblin Caves. Demo and playtest character select was Human and Minotaur. Elf is no longer marketing-only copy. It is still the thinnest kit on this page, on purpose.
Marketing asks whether you will “master magic as an elf.” Eldorian, a young elf in the Guild Hall, fights with spear and spell — that is an NPC kit, not a promise that playable Elves use spears. No racial weapon identity, no archetype passive, and no XP-cost example have been published the way axe, staff, and Strength tax have.
Until Mudtek shows those pieces, Elf plus Brawler, Elf plus Magician, and Elf plus Shadow stay unranked. Do not borrow Eldorian’s spear, do not invent a bow, and do not assume Elf Magician is automatically S because the poster said “master magic.” When the tree is public, this section should grow; until then, honesty beats a fake kit. Male/female options now exist for every race, including Elf.
Fairy
Fairy is confirmed, and the kit that exists is sharp.
Combat kit. A Fairy always fights as a staff-wielding caster, even if you choose Brawler. That is the same rule as Minotaur-plus-axe, pointed the other way. Strength is expensive. Mudtek’s comparison: a Fairy Magician pays far more XP to raise Strength than a Minotaur Brawler, and pouring XP into off-stats reduces total attributes at cap.
Who should take it. Fairy Magician matches the staff identity and sits at B on the beginner list because of that Strength tax, not because the pair is fake. Fairy Brawler is the awkward documented hybrid: Brawler grapples and stamina on a body that still holds a staff. Both are real. Neither is the kindest first character. Use the archetype planner before you try to “fix” Strength.
Myrll — doe legs, fox tail, exiled from the forest — is a fey-coded NPC, not a second Fairy subtype. Do not collapse them into one identity.
The eight-race 1.0 target
Store copy and design posts aim at eight playable races and six classes, which is forty-eight archetypes at 1.0. Some notes say “8+”. This wiki uses eight as the target and does not name the missing four. Playtests and the closed demo (15 July 2026) ran on Minotaur and Human. Elf is now an Early Access race named on 2 September 2026. Fairy remains a confirmed identity with a staff-caster rule. Early Access is the rollout.
When a fifth race is named, it will add six new archetypes, not a costume. Come back to this page then. Until then, pick from the four bodies above, pair them on classes, and ignore empty rows.
Racial spells still feed the same fight as everyone else: five equipped spells, stamina plus Concentration, Final Attack on the third hit, poise and stun, stacks of Burning, Chill, Poison, and Bleeding. Race decides the weapon you cannot drop. Class decides how you spend the meters. The pair decides the third tree. That is the whole racial argument, and it is why this page refuses to write fiction in the blank slots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Dimraeth players.
How tall are Minotaurs in Dimraeth?
Official copy puts them between 7 and 10 feet, bull-headed, with long curved horns. They are frontliners from the Boulder Fel Barons, not comic mascots.
Do Humans only fight with swords?
No. The published Human kit swaps sword and crossbow mid-fight. Class then adds Brawler close combat or Magician elemental weapon blends.
Is Fairy a caster even as a Brawler?
Yes. Race is the base kit. A Fairy always fights as a staff-wielding caster, even on Brawler. Strength is also expensive on this race.
What is actually confirmed about Elves?
The 2 September 2026 post names Elf as a new Early Access race. Weapon identity, passives, and XP costs are not published yet. Eldorian's spear is an NPC kit, not yours.
When will the other four races be named?
During Early Access. Eight races is the 1.0 target. This page will add rows when Mudtek publishes identities — not before.
Which race is the safest beginner pick?
Minotaur, locked to Brawler (Vanguard). Human Magician is the documented alternative. See starter builds.
