Dimraeth on Steam Deck
Official Deck support, full controller, and the input notes that matter before 15 September 2026.
Mudtek’s FAQ says Dimraeth launches on PC via Steam with full support for the Steam Deck. The store lists full controller support, including Xbox and PlayStation pads. A January 2026 playtest was explicitly about controller, Deck, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and multiplayer lobbies. None of that is a Valve “Verified” badge printed on this wiki. Check the Deck store overlay on the day you buy.
Steam Early Access is 15 September 2026. Consoles are not confirmed. There is no local or split-screen multiplayer. Online co-op is 1–8 on a peer-to-peer host. If you wanted couch co-op on a Deck dock, that is not the product. Read co-op for the Valheim-shaped persistence split.
This page is the Deck and input companion to system requirements and controls. Specs still matter: minimum is Windows 10, 4 GB RAM, GTX 750 / R7 260X / UHD 620, DirectX 11, 5 GB. Recommended is 8 GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti / RX 560 class GPU. A Deck OLED is closer to the recommended conversation than to a 4 GB laptop.
What “full support” actually said
Official FAQ inputs:
- Keyboard and mouse
- Gamepad / controller, tuned for comfort
- WASD and mouse hybrid
Playtest notes asked people to file Deck and pad bugs on Discord. Demo-era comments included at least one player who struggled to get past character creation on Deck. That is a comment, not a studio retraction. If character creation is still awkward on 15 September, that is a bug report, not a reason to invent a “Deck is unsupported” headline.
The 2 September 2026 content list added improved character customisation and male/female options for every race. More sliders on a small screen is exactly the kind of UI that needs a pad cursor that works. Test creation on the device you will actually play, not only on a desktop.
How to set up a session on Deck
- Confirm the Steam page still lists Deck support the morning you buy. This wiki will not freeze a Verified badge that Valve has not published here.
- Bind the pad before Lost Caverns. Open controls. You want dodge, block/parry, interact, map, and the five-spell bar reachable without a nested radial you cannot find in a boss wind-up.
- If you use the WASD-plus-mouse hybrid on a dock, keep the same sensitivity you learned on desktop. Dimraeth combat is commitment. A sudden sensitivity jump is how you eat a telegraph.
- Host or join on Wi-Fi you trust. Peer-to-peer has no dedicated box to rent. The Deck as host is possible; the Deck on bad cafe Wi-Fi as host is how a seven-person session hitch-steps.
- Cap your expectations on battery. A Souls-lite ARPG with eight-player netcode is not a 2D indie that idles at 4 watts. Dock it for Goblin Caves if you care about frame time more than portability.
Combat on a small screen
You still manage health, stamina, and Concentration. The third hit is a Final Attack. You equip five spells. Telegraphs are meant to be read. A 7-inch screen makes wind-ups smaller, not simpler. Zoom and HUD scale — if the EA build exposes them — are worth a minute in settings before a boss.
Brawler wants face buttons you can mash without dropping dodge. Magician wants the same plus enough trigger discipline to not dump Concentration before a basic lands. Shadow, the class named on 2 September, has no published bar yet. Do not bind a stealth kit you have not seen.
Co-op from the couch (online only)
You can sit on a couch with a Deck. You cannot split the screen with a second pad for a second hero. A second player needs their own Steam client. Find people on Discord looking-for-group. Your hero travels; Earlwood’s story does not.
What to pair with this page
- System requirements for the PC numbers
- Controls for keyboard, pad, and hybrid
- EA content update for Elf, Shadow, pets, and the level-25 cap
- Getting Started for the first hour
If Steam’s Deck rating and this paragraph fight, Steam wins. Mudtek is a small remote studio. The FAQ asked you to file input bugs in the channel they actually read.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Dimraeth players.
Is Dimraeth Steam Deck Verified?
Mudtek says full Deck support and full controller support. This wiki does not print a Valve Verified badge that is not on the store overlay. Check Steam on the day you buy.
Can I play local split-screen on a docked Deck?
No. Dimraeth has no local or split-screen multiplayer. Co-op is online, 1–8 players, peer-to-peer.
What inputs work?
Keyboard and mouse, gamepad, and a WASD-plus-mouse hybrid. Xbox and PlayStation controllers are listed on the store.
Are consoles coming?
Not confirmed. The studio says PC first. Deck is the handheld they have named.
Should I host from a Deck?
You can. Host on the steadiest connection in the group. Peer-to-peer has no dedicated server. Bad Wi-Fi as host hitch-steps everyone.
Where do I file Deck bugs?
Mudtek's Discord bug-report channel. They are a small team. One clip in the named channel beats five tweets.
