Dimraeth Goblin Caves

The second new Early Access region — close-quarters cave combat with a named boss and tighter spaces than Wildwood.

Last updated:

Goblin Caves

The Goblin Caves are a named Early Access region confirmed in Mudtek’s 2 September 2026 content update, alongside an expanded Wildwood Forest. Goblin enemies had appeared in older production notes; the caves turn that into a visitable biome with a major boss per region. Steam Early Access lands 15 September 2026. This page covers what is actually confirmed. No invented room names, no fake corridor maps.

Read Combat Systems before you enter — close-quarters cave combat rewards the same meters as open-world fighting, but the tighter geometry changes which telegraphs you can actually dodge around. Pair this with the map overview for how the caves sit in the starter region lineup.

What is confirmed

  • Goblin Caves are a new Early Access region, not a Wildwood expansion.
  • Goblin enemies have been in Dimraeth production notes since late 2025.
  • The caves have a major boss for this region, named in the same 2 September post as expanded Wildwood and its own boss.
  • Close-quarters cave setting means tighter corridors, more environmental cover, and fewer clean dodge lanes than open forest.

That is the confirmed fact set. Everything below is inference from the setting and the existing combat system — not a leaked dungeon map.

Combat in tight spaces

Cave environments change how Souls-lite combat reads:

  • Telegraphs are harder to read at close range. A swing that reads clearly at mid-range can clip the wall behind you in a corridor. Move deliberately; do not mash into a corner.
  • Stamina management is sharper. Tight spaces reward blocking and parrying over wide dodge rolls. If you have a Brawler with a shield option, this is the biome to use it.
  • Five spells still apply. The same five-slot bar you built for Wildwood is your bar here. Bring the same loadout logic: basics for Concentration, a Final Attack on the third hit, and one defensive or movement spell you can press under pressure.
  • Magician elemental tools (Fire, Ice, Lightning) still work in corridors. Water and Aether spells are documented in the spells list. Use the terrain.

What to bring

  1. Cooked food. The same rule as Wildwood and the Corrupted Treant: enter with vitality raised. Cave fights do not forgive empty health bars more than open-world does.
  2. Potions. Lesser Health, Lesser Stamina, and Lesser Concentration from the Alchemy Table. The same trio covers the three meters in close quarters.
  3. A loadout you trust. Do not experiment with a new five-spell bar inside a boss room. Test changes in the corridor packs first.
  4. A plan for whose world. Same co-op rules as every other region: your hero travels, the story does not. If you clear this in a friend’s save, that clear belongs to their world.

How this fits the starter region

The documented order is Lost Caverns → Earlwood Village → Wildwood Forest, then Goblin Caves as the new Early Access geography beyond the initial spine. Think of it as the first real difficulty gate after Wildwood — not because Wildwood is easy, but because cave geometry punishes greedy positioning more visibly.

The 2 September post also named expanded Wildwood as separate geography. Treat these as two different destinations with two different boss fights, both confirmed for the Early Access build.

Co-op in the caves

Eight-player drop-in still applies. One player hosts. In tight corridors, do not all stand in the same doorway — the host’s camera and the teleport logic work better with spread positioning. Call target priority. If your parrot pet is set to assist-only-against-occupied-enemies (per the playtest notes), this is a biome where that targeting rule actually matters: cave packs can chain-agro faster than open packs.

What this page will not do

No invented boss titles. No fabricated corridor or room names. The 2 September post named the region and a boss; until Mudtek publishes the boss name or the community confirms it in footage, this page uses “the Goblin Caves boss” and stops there. When a name is public, this page gets updated with it.

For the world boss names already in footage — Monstrous Droop and the Corrupted Treant — see Boss Fights. For how to exit the caves and go home to craft, see Stronghold Building. For a complete region map, see Map and Regions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Dimraeth players.

Are Goblin Caves a new region?

Yes. Mudtek named Goblin Caves as a new Early Access region on 2 September 2026, alongside expanded Wildwood. Goblin enemies were already in older production notes.

Is there a boss in the Goblin Caves?

Yes. The 2 September post named a major boss for this region. The exact title has not been published; this wiki will not invent it.

Is cave combat different from Wildwood?

Yes. Tighter corridors limit dodge space and make telegraphs harder to read at close range. Stamina management and blocking matter more than in open combat.

What should I bring to the Goblin Caves?

Cooked food for vitality, potions for Health/Stamina/Concentration, and a five-spell loadout you have already tested. Do not experiment with new bars inside a boss room.

Can I play Goblin Caves solo?

Yes. Solo is fully supported. Co-op is optional 1–8 player drop-in. Your hero travels; the clear stays in the host's world.

When should I tackle Goblin Caves relative to Wildwood?

After Wildwood. The caves are the named Early Access geography beyond the starter spine — and the tighter geometry makes them a harder exam than open forest.
